Common Uses for UV Stabilised Stickers

Our UV-resistant labels are designed for demanding work environments where standard vinyl labels would quickly fade. They are typically ordered for labels that will be regularly exposed to sunlight. Here’s just some common use cases our clients order these labels for:

Outdoor Equipment Labels

UV-resistant labels are ideal for use on outdoor assets such as tools, machinery, plant equipment, trailers, and storage containers.

Asset Labels and Serial Number Labels

Where assets are used outdoors, UV-resistant labels help keep variable data readable for longer. This makes them useful for tracking equipment, tools, appliances, containers and company property.

Warning and Safety Labels

Safety messages need to stay visible. UV-resistant labels ensure warnings, hazards and instructions are protected from fading and reduced legibility over time.

Construction and Site Labels

UV-resistant labels are a great choice for construction firms that require labelling solutions for equipment, containers, toolboxes and site safety applications.

Utilities, Energy and Outdoor Infrastructure

Applied on infrastructure such as utility boxes, solar equipment, electrical panels, HVAC units, pipes, cabinets and outdoor installations.

What Makes Our Labels UV Resistant?

Our UV-resistant labels are produced using a combination of durable print, protective lamination and the right self-adhesive material for the job.

The printed detail is produced using Epson UltraChrome GS3 inks, which are designed for professional wide-format print applications where colour quality and outdoor durability matter. Once printed, the labels are protected with a Metamark vinyl overlaminate. We use either Metamark MG-305 Gloss orย MG-302 Matt, depending on the required finish.

This laminate acts as a clear protective layer over the printed design. It helps shield the print from sunlight, weathering, moisture, handling and surface wear. The laminate also contains UV stabilisers, which help slow down fading and keep the label readable for longer when used outdoors.

FAQ

What makes your labels UV-proof?

Their UV-proof properties stem from our durable inks and the tough laminated overcoat finish. This potent combination provides long-lasting protection against ultraviolet light, ensuring it cannot fade or discolour your artwork for years after purchase.ย

Are these UV stabilised stickers suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. They can be used indoors or outdoors thanks to their high-tack finish and thick laminated barrier. They are highly resistant to weather and general wear and tear.ย

Do UV resistant labels stop all fading?

No printed label is completely immune to ageing when exposed to direct sunlight for long periods. However, our UV resistant labels are produced using durable Epson UltraChrome GS3 inks and protected with Metamark MG-305 Gloss or MG-302 Matt laminate. This helps slow down fading and keeps the label clearer and more readable for longer than a standard unlaminated label.

What surfaces are UV resistant labels suitable for?

Our UV resistant labels are best suited to clean, dry and stable surfaces such as smooth metal, painted metal, plastic, glass, machinery panels, equipment casings, toolboxes, containers and flat signage surfaces.

For more difficult surfaces such as powder-coated metal, textured plastic, low-energy plastics, timber, concrete, dusty surfaces, oily surfaces or rough surfaces, we recommend testing first. Adhesion depends on the surface condition, texture, material type and how the label is applied.

Do you offer custom sizes or shapes?

Our UV-Resistant Labels can be manufactured entirely to your bespoke needs. Regardless of your size and shape requirements, we can deliver. Whether you need asset tags, compliance labels, or branded graphics, weโ€™ll manufacture to your exact specifications.

How long do UV resistant vinyl stickers last when exposed to the outdoors?

We advise our customers to expect a usage period of between 5 and 7 years. You may get slightly longer usage if applied indoors.ย

Should I choose gloss or matt laminate?

Gloss laminate gives the label a brighter, shinier finish and can make colours look more vivid. Matt laminate gives a flatter, lower-reflection finish, which can be better where glare is a concern. Both options add a protective layer over the print.

What industries commonly use these UV stickers?

Our clients utilise these incredibly durable labels across a wide range of UK industries, including engineering, construction, manufacturing, and oil and gas, just to name a few.ย ย

Can I include barcodes or serial numbers?

For sure. We can accommodate a wide breadth of variable data requests, including QR codes, serial numbers and barcodes.ย

Do you offer bulk pricing or trade discounts?

We do. The more you order, the cheaper the unit cost becomes. Additionally, we offer hyper-competitive trade pricing, which can be applied for by clicking the link in the footer of this product page.ย

Do you have a minimum order quantity for UV-Resistant Vinyl Stickers?

Our minimum order quantity for custom printed UV stickers is 50 units.

What is your typical turnaround time?

We aim to ship your order within 5-7 working days. If you require a specific date, please contact our sales team directly before placing your order.

Do I need to test the label before placing a larger order?

For standard smooth surfaces, testing is not always required. However, we recommend samples or testing when the labels will be applied to unusual surfaces, textured materials, low-energy plastics, outdoor equipment, powder-coated finishes or harsh working environments.
